It's August 1914, a few days after Britain has declared war on Germany. WW1 is just getting started. Meanwhile, at the genteel and exclusive St Etheldreds care and rest home, the war seems far away. But the favourite bolt hole of the rich and famous is about to be torn apart by scandal and intrigue - when one of the guests is discovered murdered, impaled by a pair of surgical scissors. Does the forthcoming War have anything to do with the murder at St Etheldreds? It just might...
One of you staying at St Etheldreds must have done the deed. But who, and why? One thing is clear. Apprehending the murderer is a matter of national importance and must be achieved quickly. It's up to you to identify the murderer, for the sake of King and Country....
This is an original murder mystery game supplied by email as ready to print Microsoft Word pdf files. The immersive game has interesting plot lines and plenty to keep players guessing 'whodunit' right until the very end. Running time is 1½ - 2 hours.
The files supplied will print character booklets for your guests, invitations, party setup instructions, name tags, a newspaper article, various evidence, a choice of murder confessions, lots of extras to turn your venue into the St Etheldreds crime scene and menu suggestions.
You will need 60-65 sheets of printer paper and a stapler.

Fleur Tayshuss (F):
You have self diagnosed yourself (after reading books on the subject) as suffering from nervous melancholia, necessitating a long contemplative stay at the excellent St Etheldreds, with its peaceful grounds and tranquil walks. And your rich husband can foot the bill.
Matron Linda Hand (F):
You are the Matron at St Etheldreds, insisting on exemplary standards from your nurses, freshly starched uniforms and strict adherence to the Nurses Code of Conduct. But a woman's heart beats below your service cape and starched blouse...
Essie Twiggins (F):
The well respected tea lady at St Etheldreds, you are a welcome visitor to all the wards, pushing your trolley piled high with cakes and other goodies. You're convinced you do more good for the patients than these high fallutin' doctors. What do they know - hah!
Susanne Sylvestre (F):
An actress in the fledgling moving pictures business, you are recuperating at St Etheldreds after fainting on set. Those screen lights are just so hot... But at St Etheldreds, it's out of the frying pan into the fire...
Nurse Isla Blige (F):
You are a newly qualified assistant nurse at St Etheldreds, struggling to pick up your nursing skills as you go along. A murder on your watch isn't exactly welcome...
Dr Barnaby Wilde (M):
You never wanted to be a doctor but following family pressure, you were forced to take up the medical white coat and stethoscope. Now the War's started, you suppose some war wounded will be coming your way. Yuuk! You tend to faint at the sight of blood...
Dr Remi Dees (M):
Trained at the Sorbonne in Paris, you are one of the doctors at St Etheldreds. Tiens! These Eengleesh, what do they know about style or fashion! But the patients at St Etheldreds appreciate your romantic French view on life, especially the ladies...
Ernest Bond (M):
Attached to the War Office, you are a Whitehall employee with plenty to do now the war has started. So what are you doing in sleepy Dover at St Etheldreds...
Dr Brewin Hackold (M):
A doctor at St Etheldreds, you spend as much time as you can tuning up your temperamental Toodles II Sunbeam racing car. Maybe you should spend more time doing the same for your patients...
Edel Alpenweiss (M):
A Swiss flyer lost in the skies over England, you managed to land your aircraft in a field close to St Etheldreds. You were so lucky to find such a suitable emergency landing site - or were you...?
