PIRATES!
Murder Mystery Dinner Party Game for 8-10 players
It should have been a simple get together for Cap'n Black and his fellow pirates at their favourite meeting place, the Sailor's Rest. Safe back in port after a few weeks maraudin' and piratin,' the crew of the Blackbird should have been able to relax, sing a few sailor's shanties and down a grog tankard or two..... But an ill winds been a-blowin'. The Cap'n's dead, murdered that very morning with a strange golden dagger, and their precious pirate ship's been impounded by the port authorities. It's skulduggery a-plenty. Any among this crew of scallywags had good reason to murder the Cap'n, and there's talk of a buried treasure just waitin' to be found…
You have to discover the identity of Captain Black's murderer before Lord Longshanks, Freetown's Governor seizes the Blackbird and incarcerates the crew (that's you!)...

The 8-10 characters:
Barney Caul (M):
Acting First Mate on the Blackbird, you like nothing better than cracking the whip to keep your scallywag crew in line. Raise the Jolly Roger and lets be at 'em!
Lancelot Britworth-Jones (M):
Of aristocratic noble birth and third in line to a dukedom, you likes things done shipshape, your way...
Warren Peace (M):
Working on the writing of your first novel, your pen is definitely mightier than your sword. None of the crew has seen your scribblings, and dead men tell no tales.
Gayle Force (M/F):
Shiver me timbers, you can't afford to take any liberties with Gayle Force. Combining the two jobs of shipboard surgeon and carpenter, without your constant attention the Blackbird would surely have scuppered by now.
Carry Oakey (M):
Newly arrived after jumping ship, you are an ex-quartermaster, always ready with an 'Aye aye Cap'n.' Maybe a little too keen?
Sophie Silverbrass (F):
A genteel and respected pillar of Freetown high society, what business can you possibly have aboard the pirate ship Blackbird?
Eave Hoe (F):
To be accepted as crew aboard the Blackbird, you have to dress as a man. (Women crew members are considered unlucky.) It ain't been easy outperforming the other crew but it does have advantages...
Yue Lie (F):
Enigmatic and mysterious, no-one seems to know much about your far eastern origins. Yet none dare question your extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine and chemistry. Can you be trusted?
Extra characters:
Willie Cook (M/F):
This cook must be one of the most dangerous pirates aboard, particularly when preparing a meal after some yo ho ho. Anyone for another measure of grog?
Rusty Flintock (M/F):
A stowaway landlubber setting out for a life of piracy, they'd best keep a careful eye on you...
